I accidentally forgot 5 weeks but I'm so close to six weeks that I might as well wait.

Mine is starting to get a darker head like your roo.I have a pair Female on left (she is 9 months & already laying) and Male on right (9 weeks old in photo.) They are beautiful birds!!View attachment 2162603
It looks like a hen to me, but some times it's just hard to tell.I picked up this one yesterday.. itll be 4 weeks old on Sunday.. so i thought the speck of pink wasn't as important as the comb development.. compared to other clearly male chicks (all same ages) with full on pinky red combs that were surprisingly developed. I made the mistake of not slowly integrating them today, so she went on the attack. Do you think that might indicate that i picked out yet another roo ?? you can see the federal chicken prison next to the coop. She was lonely at bedtime, so i held her til she was asleep
Yea, i am leaning towards female for her and my 2 other favs. I noticed at the pet store, the obvious male D'Uccles (big combs) were smaller than what seemed to be the females. My Cinnamon has a pretty large comb, and is also pretty small. Ive resigned that he's a he. But i think the 6 week mark will make it more official for all of them.It looks like a hen to me, but some times it's just hard to tell.
Thats so cute❤ my neighbor named her two mille fleur D'Uccles Mille and Fleur❤ They're so sweet.Yea, i am leaning towards female for her and my 2 other favs. I noticed at the pet store, the obvious male D'Uccles (big combs) were smaller than what seemed to be the females. The new chick, who we are calling mon petit floraison (my little blossom, just sounds so appropriate for a mille fleur d'uccle ) has turned out to be such a sweetie pie, after her first day of chaos and terror! She lays down and both silkies lay on top of her when it's time to sleep. Happy with my little flock.
