First is a Welsummer, then a white Sussex
Thanks

Age is always very important to know...but I'll guess about 12 weeks to 16 weeks?

And your top photo is not the best for color or highlights...so I zoomed in the best I could...if it represents the bird accurately...

The top Welsummer is male....black chest, red bars on wings, green in tail. Welsummer males and females are very differently colored.

The bottom bird is a Light Sussex, and assuming close to those ages, I think pullet.

Agreed. And could you get a closer up picture of the first bird?

I agree.

If it is the age I guessed...12 to 16 weeks, this is definitely a rooster. You can see the comb development vs. general lack of body development. A hen would not have that kind of comb development until her body was filled out more and she was getting to point of lay.

Having said that, I don't think you have a full blooded Welsummer...it looks to be a mix as the colors are wrong for a Welsummer rooster.
