When do RIRs begin to lay?

Me too! I have 2 RIRs that are 6 months they are big with huge appetites but seem slow to mature. Small pink combs and no chicken squat. It is August and we live in a hot climate, 110 is not unusual. I don't know if weather makes a difference but my 18 month EE quit laying but my australorp is going strong.

anyone know if production red usually lay earlier or about the same as RIR?
