When will my araucana/silkie cross start laying?

Hi everyone!
We have an almost 8 month old (33 weeks) araucana/silkie cross hen. She's not laying yet! We're in New zealand and one month into spring. Is she very late to lay? Will it ever happen?

Also, her mum was the araucana, dad a partridge silkie - we were told the hens of that mix should lay green eggs. Is that true?

With mixed breed chickens you never know what color the eggs may be. Can you share a picture of your hen? Silkies generally start anywhere from 6-10 months of age. Is your hen confined?

Okay thank you @oldhenlikesdogs ! She's free ranging in our back yard. I guess it's possible she is laying in a secret spot. But we have several laying boxing scattered that the other hens use, so I think she's just not laying yet? Will post a picture later
