I hope so, but only time will tell.

This past week, it's sounded like an abandoned human infant and would be sparadic and only last 15 minutes or so. Then, this morning I heard solid crowing-like sounds for nearly an hour. No on else in the neighborhood has chickens, so it's all me.

No practice eggs yet (I assume I should be seeing those soon??)

You should be able to find a video on YouTube of a hen doing her egg song. Compare that to what you heard. Some do like to carry on for ages (i have one of those)! They can practice it for a week or more before they grace you with that first, wonderful egg. Hope it turns up soon!
