I have an RSL hen, her name is Gertie BTW, that lays very large double-yolkers on ocassion. Hers are always our largest eggs. When she first started laying she'd lay for 6 or 7 days then take a day off. After the day off you could count on the double. I don't know if she still does it though. She hasn't missed a day for a month and a half.
