Will hens make a specific noise when the lay??

Also, how do you find free range eggs?? we are trying to get them to lay in the coop, but it is only working a fraction of the time

oh yes, they will cackle up a storm when they lay....well 98% of the time anyway....free ranging, you just have to keep an eye on them. sometimes they will run straight to the nest when they are let out of the hen house..others take hours to go.
