Worming with Horse Wormer

How much would you reccomend to give an adult Peafowl weighing 2-3 lbs ea. of the equine paste?

I give 0.23ml per pound once and repeat in ten days when treating for just roundworms and cecal worms. For capillary worms I give five days in a row.

Hi Kathy, long time no talk. I've just been weighing up my options, fenbendazole or albendazole . Found this paper on using the fenbendazole in conjunction with praziquantel . Thought you might find it interesting . It's also worth noting that in this study and the link attached that albendazole is reported to affect egg production for up to 8-10 weeks after administration.

There is also this:

Quote: Three days in a row is unlikely to treat capillary worms effectively... Some people dose again in 10 days, I don't. Some people toss the eggs during treatment and 14 days after, I don't. Does that help? Pretty sure most vets would say to toss the eggs for during treatment and 14 days after, but not sure what most will say about re-dosing in 10 days.... I know of one that said to re-dose.

If you dose 3-5 days in a row, discard eggs 14 days after the last dosing. There's no need to redose again 10 days later.
Someone in the peafowl forum was advised by their vet to redose in 10 days after the five day treatment, but they did not give any details, although I suspect it was because they still had positive fecals after the first round.

Just though of someone else who had to repeat the five day dose due to a positive fecal after the initial five day dose. Their fecal was positive for capillary worms.
