Yum! I did GOOD! ;) I just want to share!

I just met up with a gal yesterday who I found on craigslist & bought 10 of her processed chickens that she'd raised. We ate one tonight & I have to say it was darn yummy! It tasted rich & chicken-y & it felt so good to know we were eating a bird that had been raised well and healthily!

I don't have the room or inclination to raise my own, but I'm willing to help support a local farmer by buying theirs!

Where do you "look em up"?
I'd be interested to raise some meat birds, but there is no way I will "process" myself!
(I'll be in Nebraska)

I just typed in "Wisconsin meat processing" and "meat processing in Wisconsin" to find the place that did mine. I just figure I'd change the state for others!

You can also check your local phone book because there is a rather large section on meat processing. If the place doesnt list what they process, call and ask. Thats what I did. Then ask THEM where you can get your birds done.

THANK YOU - I actually found a couple of places near where we will be living.... actually about an hour drive away!

How much do they generally charge?
