I have a total of 3 tractor coops and a temporary shelter area. The tractor coops are all moveable with our quad. There are hooks on the base that I hook up a cable to and then I can drag it anywhere I want!
My Dad and I wanted to build an easy access, easy to clean tractor coop for my adult chickens. So we came up with this contraption. This coop is a mix of a lot of different coops we saw online but built as simple as possible.
Materials
25 - 2x4x8 (A couple were extra but its better to be safe than sorry!)
5 - 3/4 inch plywood sheets
3 - 4x4x10
3 - 1x1x10
8 hinges
a roll of 1 inch chicken fencing
Paint
2 windows (we got ours at a yard sale)
Deck screws (We used 3 and 4 inch)
Fencing staples
I had a strip of hardware cloth laying around and we used that for the ramp so the poo would fall through!
A Weather Vane, solar lights, and Wind chime (optional but fun!)
I didn't think to take pictures while we were building it but it's pretty straight forward. We first painted the plywood then put the 4x4s together as the base. We then built the walls separate so we could easily attach them to the base. After the plywood was dry we cut out the pieces we needed and attached them to the wall frames (but not the walls that open). We put up the walls and then put on the hinged side walls (I forgot to paint one side of the plywood so ignore that! I'll paint it when it stops raining). The roof went on last (this took 3 of us to do). After everything is put together put on the fencing and put the 1x1 across the bottom for extra insurance. We built a feeder box directly into the coop and have a 5 gal gravity water system with cups. This works great for me because I open both sides up, take a push broom, sweep it out and then move the coop!

I used Thompson water seal on these ones instead of paint
Put together the base with the 4x4s, make the wall frames with 2x4s, cut the plywood for the coop walls, floor and ceiling and slap that bad boy together!
It's not fancy but it keeps the littles safe!
I made it so the back opens for easy cleaning
Inside the coop... its wide enough the push broom fits in here too
I cover the top in plywood for extra protection. We have bald eagles close by.
No fancy waterer here I had this one handy so I made a shelf for it and bungied it down
They thought it was treat time not picture time lol

Here's the turkey coop. Its very similar but I put fencing on top and there's no bottom in the coop. I took it out... turkeys poop a LOT.
They always sleep outside anyways!
Nothing too fancy here either. The turkeys have a gravity waterer just like the adult chickens do though but not an auto feeder. They don't eat much feed but i keep a hanging one full for them and I move their coop daily
The small sheet of plywood gives them some protection from the sun but it isn't screwed down so I can move it around if I need to.
Since the coop is moved daily the floor is always clean!
The temporary shelter is for birds people give to me. It started out as a fence for my Apple tree but got expanded when I got my turkey. All it is made of is fencing stakes, rabbit/deer fencing and a couple of tarps. I have a 1x4 for a roost and a pole holding up the tarp so it won't collect water.
I tend to acquire a lot of roosters from town... so I put them here till they are ready to eat. That's a very nice BR Rooster that will be on the menu at some point.
