| Additional Information | Zoning ordinance 110.011 prohibits poultry husbandry and poultry production, as agricultural use, on lots under 1 acre in unincorporated Franklin County. Platted lots between 1 and 5 acres are also prohibited -- see the code for their definition of \"platted\". Both zoning inspectors consider even 1 chicken to be agriculture. They will not consider chickens to be pets. A zoning variance can be applied for, but the application alone costs $350 and there is an approval process to be followed, including hearings etc. |
