After pricing out materials and the weighing the potential for design/build-induced arguments-- we decided to buy rather than build. It was built in sections off site, and assembled on site. The siding and most of the framing is cedar- excellent natural deterrent to a number of pests. The coop and run are perfect for the little peeps, and the larger (uncovered) run will be finished this weekend. Zero complaints to date- other than my mistake of using rice hulls as bedding that promptly fell through the floor's ventilation gaps- easily fixed using pine shavings.

For central and coastal Texans, the builder is Brad's Cedar Shop and he's great to work with. Super responsive.
