The Taj MaCoop

At first, thinking of getting chickens would be kind of weird, but the fun I have with them is really awsome. In the summer of 2012, one of our friends calls us up and says that he's too busy trucking and he want us to have his chickens. Totally shocked, we accepted the offer but we had to build a coop. My dad ordered the lumber and materials, and got to work right away. The coop took two to three weeks to build. It is a 8 by 17 foot coop, which is pretty big. We decided to have laying birds instead of meat birds because we would only have them for a short time.
We have a awsome design for their water. When it rains, it pours─ no, when it rains, the rainwater goes into an eavesdrop and fills up a barrel after going through pipes. The barrel is in a shed where we store things. At the top of the barrel is where if it overflows, it goes out and into another barrel that we use for our garden. At the bottom of the barrel is the pipe that is wrapped around in a Pipe Tracer (wire that warms the pipe) and goes into the coop. Then, it goes in these things called water cups. When a chickens hits the little yellow knob (you'll see...) it squirts out water.
The roost are three feet high─ wait, you might think that high, but 1. It doesn't look that high. And 2. There's a nice foot of soft straw on the floor. The bar has a nice recycled bicycle tires to get a firm grip on the bar.
The Nesting-boxes 12 by 16 inches. There is a nice thick layer of straw, so the eggs don't break when they fall. The coop has elctricity all around. There is a light in the coop and in the Run.
In the Run there is a ladder for the chickens to play on, and a feeder that you can fill up outside.
