My husband and I just built this 8X12 coop for our chickens and guineas. This is the outside (we still need to add white trim to the sides of the coop and to the windows). I decorated it in a primitive style. The outside run is enclosed.

It took us about 4 full weekends to get this far...and my husband is cursing the day he said to go ahead and place my first order of chicks online. He even said he'd build me a coop himself! Lol...Boy, were we in for a wonderful, exciting but stressful ride! He's only got some small interior projects left for the guinea side of the coop. We had some help from friends and above all, it's been a bonding experience full of blood, lots of sweat and tears (after he saw my 10th primitive sign). He may want to finish this project but I'm just starting! Chickens sure make me happy! And I know that even though my husbands ready to get back to enjoying his summer, my primitive coop is something he should be proud of. I do owe him a big thank you. Maybe a chicken sign will do.
