When she said Thai style chicken coop, I thought of the basket.
Then she showed me a picture of what she had in mind.
I just noticed that this sort of looks like an unfinished, but occupied, double stall outhouse. The trap door was supposed to make cleaning the coop a little easier. Roll the wheel barrow under and just rake/sweep every thing through the hole into the wheel barrow. We'll see how it works.
The yard is pretty steep, and the previous owners had terraced it nicely, i had to "curve" the run to match the space. Hardware cloth is not great with compound curves, so this is what i ended up with.

The chickens (kaiyong, khon thong and mafia) seem to like the balcony rail as a roosting spot. I was hoping that the small red light in the coop would draw them in but we have to shoo them in or literally pick them up when they are sleeping and put them in the coop. For me, I'm all about personal freedoms, and figure if the chickens want to sleep on the coop porch, they have that right. It has nothing at all to do with me having to walk out there and move them inside. No really. However the law has come down and there will be no sleeping on the porch (for the chickens, my sleeping arrangements come into question if I don't move the birds inside the coop).I guess I will load the balcony picture tomorrow.
