Knoxville Tennessee Chicken Ordinance

The link provided is not working at present. I did however, google Municode and came up with http://www.municode.com/Library and it worked. For TN just check the city or county you live in and it will guide you thru the site. For Knox County use Chapter 6. I hope this helps.

This is incorrect. The ordinance reads "Where swine are being kept at least five hundred (500) feet or poultry are being kept at least one hundred (100) feet from any building regularly or frequently used or occupied by human beings for residential, business or industrial purposes, or where swine are being kept at least five hundred (500) feet or poultry are being kept at least one hundred (100) feet from any streets, parks, playgrounds, schools, churches and similar properties; except that the requirement of this subsection shall not apply to any such locations belonging to the owner of the property where such swine or poultry are kept."

Above this posting, it lists 500' for chicken coops. It's 100' for chicken coops. The 500' is for swine.

bpacl66 The above poster said no roosters. If your poultry is 100' away, do you see any restriction on roosters. I see it as just poultry, no sex is mentioned. Thank you! [email protected]
