We still need to do the landscaping, which will be lots of pea gravel and lots of azalea bushes. It took us one year to complete this coop and my husband Marty had a serious injury and was out of service for several months. This coop was not cheap, as my hubby is a carpenter, and would do a thing unless it was " done the right way". Anyway, it is now home to 5 RIR, 2 Barred Plymouth Rock and 6 polish. They free range our acre back yard each day and retire to their chicken condo in the evenings. I just love it . My mom put the finishing touch on the side of Fog Horn Leg Horn, my favorite part...They even have little solar lanterns for night lights so they wont be afraid in the dark..hahah...I think the part that took the longest was the hip roof, the part that I insisted on...I really didn't want it to look like a chicken coop...more like a little play house. The final touch will be the wooden sign that I have ordered that reads, "Coop d'Chick" . The girls are anxiously waiting for that part..Hope everyone enjoys the photos..Will posst more for the inside after the painting is finished.
