Additional Information | 9-4.5.7 Animals. Animals kept for private, noncommercial use are permitted only as set forth in this section. Animals kept for commercial or agricultural uses are not permitted. (a) Fowl and Rabbits. Not more than five (5) fowl or five (5) rabbits are permitted in the R-M District. Fowl and rabbits are not permitted in other districts. (b) Dogs and Cats. Dogs, cats, and other small household pets not to exceed a total of four (4) animals which are four (4) months or more of age are permitted in all residential zones. (c) Birds. Birds, excluding pigeons and doves, kept as household pets are permitted in all residential zones. (d) Prohibited Animals. The following are prohibited as pets: (1) Swine; (2) Nondomesticated animals, fowl, reptiles, and amphibians, as defined in the California Fish and Game Code; (3) Cattle, sheep, goats, and other members of the bovine and ovine families; and (4) Horses.
