We decided to use our wood shed because of its structure and placement on our property. Still have things we want to do to it but I think it’s turned out pretty great!
The run has hardware cloth for skirt and on all side walls for protection from predators.
We put chicken wire on the dirt floor of the coop with cement pavers on top and then added all purpose sand on top of pavers.
There are 2 gable vents and 4 windows, we plan on adding 2 more windows for more light and extra ventilation.
The nesting boxes have a lid that raises and a latch to keep it open for easy entry for us humans.
I LOVE our “L” shaped poop boards and roost. All roost boards are removable for easy cleaning and I can let down one of the poop boards for easy cleaning. We added different options for the girls to get up and down Our big bottomed girl uses the stump and bridge.
There are 2 feeding and 3 water stations and oyster shells placed in a few different places.
This is where they love to bathes, very soft dirt and I throw in DE.
There are a couple of run roost too but I want to make them different (not pictured).
