Additional InformationPlainfield Zoning Regulations specifically permits the keeping of chickens in residential zones R60 & R40. See Section 7. 7.2 The following uses shall be deemed permitted uses in the following residence districts. Those uses not enumerated herein shall be deemed prohibited in residence unless specifically permitted elsewhere in these regulations. Permitted Uses in Residential Districts 7.21 RA-60 Districts b. Agricultural operations and proceedings incidental thereto. c. The keeping and breeding of animals including, but not limited to cattle, sheep, pigs, chickens... 7.22 RA-40 Districts b. Agricultural operations and proceedings incidental thereto. Section 7.27 specifies the number of chickens per amount of acreage on the property.
