Additional InformationChapter 9, section 24.040 of the Municipal code states that the number of animals shall not be more than is reasonable and prudent. (\\\"The number of animals, including fowl, on any premises shall be of a prudent and reasonable number and is at no time to be excessive in number as to the facilities provided for them.\\\") Chapter 9, section 24.010 says that animal shelters must be kept neat, clean and sanitary. (\\\"Wherever animals, including fowl, may be tethered, corralled, confined, sheltered or fed, the premises shall be maintained in a neat and sanitary condition so that no nuisance due to unsightliness, odor or pest breeding or harborage shall be caused by such animals or premises.\\\") Chapter 9, section 24.020 states that chicken coops must be at least 20 feet from a window or door of a dwelling. Further, there are specifications that manure must be kept in fly-free bins and not allowed to pile up (probably aimed at horse manure, but could be interpreted to include chickens).
