We have always had a few chickens in our high tunnel greenhouse. Lately I've been working to expand the effort and have a few more birds in place. I built a 24'x48' equipment shed a while ago and just fenced off half of one bay for a space that is about 12'x12' in size. Inside there is a roost, nest boxes and coop. There is a heater in the coop, but it doesn't get that cold here. The overhead LED light is on a timer to keep the light at around 12 hours a day. The last thing to do is to install an automatic door. The coop opens into a fenced space that's about a half acre in size, so there will be room to roam in the spring
