I hope it is OK to post this here, as I already listed him on craigslist. I listed him there for sale, but that's really just to deter those who would only eat him. I can do that myself! To any BYC member, or anyone recommended by a member, he would be free, or I'd be happy to trade if you have a female (any breed or age, but be advised that I will eat aging layers) or a male if you are OK with me eating him. I just don't want to kill *this* bird, because he's too darn pretty and looks just like his mom, who we love (and who, as you will see in the ad below, he loves too!). Oh, and I don't mind a minor road trip, like an hour or so from town, if you want to meet up.

Stunning Ameraurcana/Easter Egger cockerel needs a new home. I had planned to eat him, but he's just so good looking, I want to give him a chance to pass those genes on. He's 11 weeks old, brown body and head, black hackles and tail, full beard/ruff, and yellow legs. His tail feathers are already taking on an iridescent green sheen. He's going to be a stunning rooster! Unfortunately, he's smitten with his mother, and, in spite of getting a good thrashing every time he tries to mount her, he doesn't learn. His father was a good dancer (dancing roosters tend to do less damage to hens, because dancing convinces the hen to cooperate rather than resist mating), and hopefully he'll do the same. No signs of aggression yet toward humans or any other bird besides his mom.
Asking $10 to a home where he will have access to outdoors, reasonable security from predators, standard size female companions (ideally other Americaunas), and where no one plans to eat him anytime soon. I think he would make an excellent choice for breeding, and probably showing too, although that's outside my experience. His mother laid pink eggs, and I don't know what color egg his father came from, but the rule for Americanas/Americaunas/Ameraucanas/Easter Eggers/EEs is pink or blue/green eggs.
Ideally, you can pick him up with your own carrier, but contact me viaemail PM if you want him and we'll work it out.
