This is a YouTube video of a Japanese poultry show (it's in Japanese, but you don't have to know the language to appreciate the chickens).

I want the short, stubby thing at 0:16 with the enormous comb and wattles. I could watch him walk around all day. Sooooo cuuuuuute!

Awww...

By the way, "chicken" in Japanese is niwatori, which I believe literally means something like "garden bird," though I could be mistaken. You can listen for it during the video; obviously, they use it a lot.

The first one is called onagadori ("honorable fowl"). They really do have tailfeathers that grow to that length. The short, stumpy one is called Chabo. I want one. Now. LOLOLOL!

The closest we have here in the U.S. are the Phoenix-type birds, I believe.

Yup, the third chicken shown in that video is a longcrower. If you need entertainment sometime, do a YouTube search for "Denizli." You'll get tons of extremely frightening longcrower videos -- perfect for annoying the neighbor that thinks the rooster you already have is bad!

the chabo is the japanese bantam. The show birds have short legs that most of what you see in hatchery birds don't have. It is a lethal gene when they have two of them, so there are long leg and short leg, but only the short legged ones can show. Much like the tufting in araucanas.

WOW! That was a long crrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWWWwwwwwwwwwwwwww! *pant pant* poor guy that must be a pain to do every day!
ETA: when i did the search on youtube I got 20,200 results!
