Do we need some sort of a perch in front of our nestboxes?

We have 2 (side by side) boxes about 2 feet off the ground. Are perches really needed for that?

They'd be used if you put them there. I'd put them up, so theyre not ruining their feathers making the jump.

Yeah, I think you'll want something there. I tried one for my bantams last year and they wouldn't use it until we added the perch.
