I ordered 12 Salmon Faverolles from Estes Hatchery. They are about 8 weeks old now. They sent me 16 of them, but I lost two right off the bat. I had 14 when I put them outside but today I could only find 12. I am going back out to see if I can find two others in the flock that I just didn't notice...
I have read that sexing them is easy and that if they have any black feathers on the breast than they are Roos. Well going by that, I've got like all Roos.
I need opinions. There are 12 chicks. Please look at the pictures and then make a list like this:
Chick 1=
Chick 2=
Chick 3=
Chick 4=
Chick 5=
Chick 6=
Chick 7=
Chick 8=
Chick 9=
Chick 10=
Chick 11=
Chick 12=
and put your opinion after the =. I really cannot have this many Roos and considering I waited 3 months for these chicks and bought sexed pullets, I am really steamed right now.
A couple of Roos I can deal with, and actually welcome so that I can breed my own. But nearly all Roos is unacceptable to me and I might be complaining about it to the hatchery.
