Here, there, and everywhere...
I ordered 12 Salmon Faverolles from Estes Hatchery. They are about 8 weeks old now. They sent me 16 of them, but I lost two right off the bat. I had 14 when I put them outside but today I could only find 12. I am going back out to see if I can find two others in the flock that I just didn't notice...

I have read that sexing them is easy and that if they have any black feathers on the breast than they are Roos. Well going by that, I've got like all Roos.
I need opinions. There are 12 chicks. Please look at the pictures and then make a list like this:

Chick 1=
Chick 2=
Chick 3=
Chick 4=
Chick 5=
Chick 6=
Chick 7=
Chick 8=
Chick 9=
Chick 10=
Chick 11=
Chick 12=

and put your opinion after the =. I really cannot have this many Roos and considering I waited 3 months for these chicks and bought sexed pullets, I am really steamed right now.
A couple of Roos I can deal with, and actually welcome so that I can breed my own. But nearly all Roos is unacceptable to me and I might be complaining about it to the hatchery.

Here they are:

I'm no expert, but I think 5 is your only for-sure roo. I have one hatchery Salmon Faverolle, and she looks a lot like your #12, except younger (mine is 5 weeks old now).

i've just begun with this breed myself. i have 2 bantams and ended up with 8 standards (4 i kept).

the bantams after about 2 weeks old and one ended up the pullet the other the cockerel. there's a definate size and wing growth difference between the genders. these are almost 2 weeks older than the standards, so it gave me a little knowledge on what to watch for on the standards.

i'd say you have 2 that are cockerels.#5 and probably #3. strange that by now they do not have much foot feathering. they are cute though!

good luck!
