We've just hatched out five (now four) silkie/buff orpingtons. They have patchy skin (blue and tan) and buff feathers with black markings. I don't know where they could have gotten those markings; maybe the rooster's a mutt? Has anyone else hatched out a weird silkie mix? Does anyone have pictures?!!!

Here are some of ours with their momma:

And here's the daddy:

I think the Buff Orpingtons throw weird colors personally. This is a picture of my Buff Orpington Cochin.

Not the color I'd expect.

Zahboo, that baby looks exactly like my Tux a bit younger. Look at this kiddo, whose daddy was a Cochin/Silkie cross and her mama was a Barred Rock. Her name is Tux because her chest was white like your baby's is as a tiny chick:

I don't think the world can handle two Fro's. Hopefully yours isn't as evil as mine

Fro is the same age as her sister, Juice. I guess she just takes after the bantam size and Juice after the standard...

I have three of them. We call them the PoufyHead Sisters. Tux is broody right now for the first time at two and a half years old. Her sister Olivia was broody last year, but the biggest one, Kate, has never shown any desire. Mine are sweeties! Here is Tux now
