I need help adjusting temp on the Hova Bator 1588 I am using,it is suppose to be preset at 99.5 but it is running 102-104....I have tested the temp with 3 different thermometers and all 3 read in the same range...I know I saw a thread about adjusting the temp but I can not find it....Please can someone help me I have 2 dozen eggs waiting to go in. Thanks

With the unit plugged in:

1. Turn all of the switches off.

2. Turn on in this order 2, 5, 6, 7 and 8.

3. Wait for the light to quit blinking.

4. Turn off 2 and then on again.

5. Wait for the light to quit blinking.

6. Turn off all of the switches and turn 4 back on.

Put the lid back on the bator and let it stabilize for an hour and take a temperature reading. This should have dropped it about 2 degrees or less. If you need to adjust more, here are the approximate switch values:

1 = .5 degrees down
2 = ~ 2 degrees down
3 = ~ 3.5 degrees down
4 = 5 degrees down

5 = 5 degrees up
6 = ~ 3.5 degrees up
7 = ~ 2 degrees up
8 = .5 degrees up

Just to clarify, to turn down select switch 1-4 depending on the increment you want to lower, turn it on and then turn on 5, 6, 7, 8 in that order. Toggle the switch you selected once (off then on) for every increment drop. For example you would toggle switch 1 twice to drop 1 degree. To turn it up select switch 5-8, turn it on and then turn on 4, 3, 2, 1 in that order. Toggle the switch you selected to raise the temp.

I hope that makes sense.

editted because I forgot a step.

Thanks so much.....I did steps 1 & 2 then waited for the light to stop blinking...any idea how long that will take? When I got to that step the light would blink then pause then blink then blink then pause....am I suppose to do the next step during the pause or will it eventually stop all together??

I got the temp down but unfortunately it went to far down and now I need to get it up so if I wanted to go up 3.5 is this what I should do?

1. Turn all of the switches off.

2. Turn on in this order 6, 4, 3, 2 and 1.

3. Wait for the light to quit blinking.

4. Turn off 6 and then on again.

5. Wait for the light to quit blinking.

6. Turn off all of the switches and turn 4 back on.

That should work.

If it goes way out of wack on you, returning to the factory default setting and working your way from there might be easiest.
