Just dropping in to say Hi to everyone at BYC. You have all been so helpful already (I've read a lot of random posts) so Thank You and a preemptive "thank you" for all your future advice.
My First Flock
-2 Rhode Island Reds (pullets)
-2 Polish (unk. but so far I think they are pullets)
-2 Brahmas (unk. and I have no idea what sex)
First Day Home
A couple of weeks old
The two Rhode Island Reds I knew were sexed pullets when I bought them. The two Polish (1 golden laced black & 1 golden laced buff) I think are pullets from what I have researched due to their temperament and rounded feather tips; but then again I am completely new to this and I really have no idea. As far as the two Brahmas I don't know what sex nor even what color to consider them.
Attached are some haphazardly taken pics that currently are the only ones I have. I plan on taking far more detailed pictures in hopes of getting your help sexing them.
Short Backstory
I've always dreamed of living on a farm since I was a kid (I'm 25 now, LOL) and we've always had some really interesting pets growing up in spite of living in a medium sized city. Having recently moved back to St. Petersburg (Tampa) Florida after living in Tallahassee for the past 7 years, I was very excited to finally have a huge backyard so I could add chickens to my list of "different" pets. I've been working on completely renovating an old house to move into so it currently serves as the perfect place for my homemade PVC & chicken wire brooder.
