Aaaaaand I'm back after a long period of no BYC! (*gasp* How did I survive?)

Okay peeps and peepettes! This contest is all about them Welsies. I am raising a couple Welsummer pullets for show and I love em to death. We're equally pleased with our hatchery gal Ophelia. So let's get started:

RULES
1. You *must* fill out the entry form below.
2. No sticks, stones, or other hurtful items directed towards users or their birds. This includes words!
3. No complaining or questioning the judges. If your bird doesn't win, there's a good reason.
4. HAVE FUN!

JUDGING
Experience with show-quality Welsummers is desired, but not needed. If you don't have that experience, just read up on them, okay?

Name: Larry
Sex: MALE
Age: 27 weeks on Saturday
Cat: Cockerel (ETA: I had Rooster but he's too young)
Fun Fact: My Welsummers hate me. Larry attacked my leg and drew blood during this photo shoot.
I think I need more Welsummers....

Larry is not show quality....look at his comb. I do think he's purdy, though.

Show quality? Noone sells Show quailty on BYC. Well unless they are real close pals. I have tried for months with no results so we buy hatchery stalk and show pictures of our girls and get the tumbs down on them from the people with "show quality" chickens. Kinda makes me sad.

I love my chickens, hatchery stock or not. They are beautiful and lay big beautiful eggs everyday.

Larry sure did catch my eye. He is real pretty. Dont tell him i said so. Thanks for sharing. I have 2 13 week welsummer pullets and had no idea how sweet and gentle they were. Cant wait to see their dark eggs

They give the thumbs down, but don't bother showing a quality one for comparison... hmmm, maybe theirs don't look any better.

Come on guys... prove me wrong

Thanks! I also have 4 pullets from the same hatchery Larry came from and they are not show quality either, but I think my Welsummers are laying darker than some of my Cuckoo Marans (also hatchery).

....oops..sorry to go off topic.
