I'm new to this forum, and I've decided to post a few pictures of the birds I used to have. In a few months I'll be getting birds again, some of which are from my own blood lines that a friend has kept going for me. Feel free to post your pictures as well, because I love looking at Plymouth Rocks. I have a lot more pictures, of different colors, but I do not have them on my computer, and I can't add them for quite awhile.

Want mine?! LOL. Seriously though...I'm just not fond of the American class. I thought they would be more like the production birds in temperament, but they aren't as sweet or as docile as the Asiatic class.

Here are mine:

Well, in my experience the friendliness or tameness of a bird depends on the individual strain and the color varieties. That being said, all my birds were fairly docile, but my buff rocks were by far the most friendly. I used to have one that would sit on my lap and another that would run up to the fence to greet me everytime I came outside. They are more active then asiatics, but I am just partial to the plymouth rocks. My very first chicken (when I was around 5 or 6) was a barred bantam. Ever since then, I've been hooked.

I don't anymore...the last laying hen I had died of a blood clot. Her daughter should be starting up soon, but if you'd like to get my birds...

You going to Shawnee? LOL

I must say I prefer the dark barring on Rock N's birds.

I'd love to have them but I'm hardly ever able to travel, so I would'nt be able to get them.

I like Rock N' Faverolles' birds too. Rock N' Faverolles, will you be getting anymore like those?

Yes, I'll be getting some more birds like those. I'll be picking some breeders up in the spring, and then I'll hatch as many as I can, up to 200 barred chicks. I won't have anything for sale until fall of next year or spring of 2011. If you are interested, I am planning on going to Georgia in the spring of 2011, and I may be able to help you out.
