What is a streamer and what does it look like??

I heard that it is a gender indicator for the boys...

pictures/descriptions anyone??

Hi, I'm no expert but the streamers are the little "feathers" that stream off the back of the crest in a rooster. Looks like he is traveling FAST!

Compared to a nice round crest in a hen you can sure see the difference

Pics anybody?

Well, this is not the best picture, but it is of a cockeral that is approx. 5 1/2 - 6 months old. If you will notice, he has those little strands of feathering that is hanging off the end of his head.....they don't want to lay flat, and only my males have this.

But, beware also..... some boys don't exhibit much of a streamer, look at this cockeral that is just a little older that is crowing, but does not have them! At first sight I thought he was a pullet.

Hey! That rooster is gorgeous! What color is that? I'm having trouble with Blue, Black, Grey, this VERY pretty!
And great bird to match the color too!

Here's some streamers on mine.
My splash boy has undeniable male traits. He's about 5 months

My cuckoo has very clear streamers. 6 months old.

And my off color white roo has them clearly. 6 months old.
