How many video games does everyone have?
Since our cable is cut off, the PS2 and Wii were pulled out again and NO, I have not been able to touch EITHER ONE OF THEM!
Sad that my Wii games are not working, someone has shoved them in my tool box (junk drawers! LOL, hubby doesn't use it so I do), Im thinking hubby cousin did that!

Oh well, so Wii is out of question but still the PS2 works just fine

Boys and their toys! ONce they get started, no one can get a turn!

the list goes on and on and on... and so does the loud screeching of cars!

Sometimes I regret buying the PS2 (which was SUPPOSED to be for Jay last year for xmas! but instead the 4 year old boy hasn't really played it with his pre-school games) and even more that FIL baught Hubby a game chair that is REALLY REALLY LOUD (nice comfortable green leather game chair, really nice).

How do you get your hubby or son off the VIDEO GAMES? Or even TURN IT DOWN! I cant' even hear myself THINK!

We have the PS2 but we limit it with the boys. DS#6 would spend every waking hour on it if he could.

Back in the olden days when I had a Texas Instruments computer... 1986 I played a lot of games like Pac Man and Donkey Kong, Frogger, Dig Dug. I got pretty good at them.
 
ooops didn't realize you had two threads about video games... But IMO I'd tell your hubby to get a job so the electric doesn't get cut off again, because the video games won't work if that happens. JMO

Start setting time limits and day limits on the systems. Period! End of story. If their 'chores' aren't done, no games. When they aren't home it's time to start hiding those games or selling them, you can take them to Game Stop and either get store credit or cash for them. If your family life revolves around a game or games...... it's time to put your foot down really hard.

Yes, now is the time to put your foot down. The longer you wait, the harder it will be, the bigger the tantrums, the more it will control the household. Trust me, I know this from experience.

I'm lucky there is such an age difference between my second and last child. After school, homework, music, chores and then he can decide on 30 minutes of game time or hanging out at his friend's house until dinner (hanging out at his friend's house is a couple of hours because both our families eat late) So if chooses 30 minutes of game time then he forfeits a larger play time. We don't watch tv here either though we do watch movies. After dinner we'll usually listen to radio theater or watch a movie. Most of the time we prefer the radio because we can still talk and be silly if we're not really into it.

Our house is a much different place than it was when games ruled the roost. I fought a lot with my older boys over their games, and I won't do it again. My middle son said to me the other day that he was jealous that I spend so much more time with his younger brother than I did him... that he wished I hadn't let him play so many hours of games. I thought games gave me a break from the children, but instead they put a break in our relationships.
 
If you are going to complain about the use of the games--- why buy'em in the first place.

I wouldn't have the slightest idea what a ps2 looks like let alone know how to use it. Course I have a steady job and an extended family to care for. Ain't it ashame how a steady job and family matters get in the way of having fun.
 
NO one says having a steady job and extended family gets in th way of having fun. LOL.
Im just annoyed today, TIRED from 4 hours of sleep and 4 hours of work today. I did get home to a cleaner house then when I left it

Hubby did dishes and started laundry today so guess I can't complain too much.

Wish the mute button can be PERMINENT though! That would be nnnnnnnniiiiiiicccccccceeeeee....!

My hubby enjoys playing games, but will stop if I ask him to.

Now and again we challenge each other (Wii) and play a two player game. I have the high score in bowling
