Bantams that lay well?

my friends hatchery quailty silkie actually lays pretty well!! her first egg was on friday and she has layed and egg everyday since (except one day). but still thats FABDABULOUS
 
So far in my week and a half of bantam owning experiance I would say Faverolles are pretty good layers. Of the three laying age hens I am getting at least one egg a day with no supplemental light and they live in a chicken tractor. I bet Bantam Leghorns and RIR are good layers but I don't know.

I was just about to get on here and ask the same question! I was looking at getting some more standard size chickens but my husband just loves the bantams we have, so I was thinking maybe I should get some bantam chicks as well. I'll be interested to see what people have to say.
 
I have a mentally handicapped DD who loves to watch the baby chicks in the brooder when we have some; I've been thinking about building sort of an aviary arrangement and putting some bantams in it for her to watch. If I could find bantams that lay really well, maybe I wouldn't need to keep the large chickens, too (although I sure like my Golden-laced Wyandottes).

my pq sebright bantams lay quite well, spring/summer i got almost an egg a day from 3 hens, then they stopped laying when the daylight hours got shorter and ive just gotten around to installing a light (heat bulb) about a moth ago so they are back up to almost an egg day each.

i also have mille fleur d'uccle bantams and they are laying quite well to, almost an egg a day since i got them this summer!

my cochin bantams and japanese bantams dont lay nearly as well.

When I had bantams, my OEGBs laid very well. My hens were very sweet, the roos not so much. Hopefully this spring, I'll be getting a few banties too.
 
Button Quail are very cute to watch, can be raised inside the house in small flocks and not effect the air Quality.
I used to raise them in 3'x4'x4' Homemade Cages with Cocktiels and Parakeets and Canaries in the top, button quails in the bottom....my grandson loved to watch them zip around.
