Hello Cindiloohoo! I quit after 35 years. I used Chantix, and was blessed that my insurance paid for it. You can still smoke while taking it. When I got scared about my health, I remember they were sitting on the passenger seat in the car, and I got home and gave them to hubby. I still wanted one from time to time, but I had NEVER gone a day without one! When I finally did, then I set my mind on 2 days, and so forth. The cravings only really last a minute or two, then you have defeated that demon! It really does get easier. I have gotten to the point that they still smell REALLY good sometimes, especially since husby smokes, but I am really SO proud of how long I have gone (9 months) that I won't light one and ruin that record. It is PERSONAL now! Good luck. Set your mind to it. And if you fail, try again. I tried a dozen or more times before I could do it. And buy alot of elastic pants. I have gained weight, and it was hard to get off, but it slowly is. I still would be fat than be a smoker!
