I used the design from the purina mills coop that was posted on here a few days ago.
https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=95956
But I made changes. For one I used 4x4 instead of 2x4 for the corner posts. Also the roof is attached and not just sitting on top. Also the back hatch it was changed to 2 doors instead. When we tried to use the drop hatch it was a pia to get over it to reach inside. Also used the roll roofing instead instead of the corrugated roofing. I also used two floor vents under the front to add some ventilation that I could control.

My supplies, and the rabbit hutch I got for free.

Thanks. I am really happy with it. Next month I get to build another to house the rest of my flock when they are old enough.

Also glad it only took a day to build.

Very nice work and I see you had some qualified helpers as well. Getting the kids involved is time well spent. I commend you for letting them work with you to make a great home for your birds.

Thank you.

If ice wasn't coming down right now we would be getting the stain for the coop. My oldest is really excited about getting to paint it soon.

Great thing about that coop is you can double or triple the measurements to make a bigger coop... you could even expand on it.

I doubt I could make it bigger on my own.
Also since some of their plans don't make sense like the back door and the roost, I think anyone making it bigger will have some big trouble without modifications.

Why not?

Of course doors and next box measurements would all stay the same, but you could make room for more birds simply by extension. pretty easy .
