Just playing with our new chicks and the camera, and thought I would post pics of the Salmon Faverolles. It is the first time we have had these, and are excited to see how they turn out. We are supposed to have three pullets and a cockerel. They are so cute, and a bit shy compared to the other chicks. This time we tried a few different breeds than we had in the past, including
Silver Spangled Hamburgs, Silver Gray Dorkings, Delawares, and Iowa Blues. Lots of fun to watch them change day by day. They were hatched February 17th. The pics make them appear more yellow than they actually are. They are a creamy vanilla yellow. Aren't they cute?

Beautiful yes it looks like 3 girls and a boy. Where did you get your eggs I have some LF in lockdown due today and tommorow and some bantams due on Tuesday or Wednesday.
I have a flock of bantam salmon and blue salmons from several diffrent breeders.

Hi Henry, Actually, these came from Ideal. I wish I was set up to hatch my own eggs. This is our second flock (third year) of having chickens. Our first flock was wonderful; no real problems except some mean EE roosters (went bye-bye). We are trying these few breeds, and are thinking that we may like to add on to our set-up and hone in on our favorite breed and try to learn to develop a quality flock. I just love the one in your avatar!

That is the process that I had and I eventually settled on Faverolles in bantam and LF hopeing my hatch goes well I had a drop in tempratures late in the hatch but I am still hopeing to get some LF chicks and some more bantams from diffrent lines.

Can't wait to see your results! Faverolles are so beautiful from what I have seen. We had some gorgeous EE roosters, but they were so rough. From my research, Faverolles roosters are usually calm and gentle to their ladies. Never had any type of bantams. So just a few more days before your hatch?

Yes due tommorow and Wednesday. I already have a grown flock of bantam faverolles and the roos and hens are super sweet and friendly they are my favorite chickens that I have ever owned and I have had about 15 diffrent breeds of hens.

I just looked at your web page. Looks like you have a great start on your flock. I am sure we will be asking a lot of questions as we get rolling this season. All we really know is that we fell into this chicken trance and now cannot imagine our life without them. We are empty-nesters now (nervous energy?) and find that when we get onto something, we like to do the best we can. So I am sure we will eventually focus on one or two breeds.
