Remember about a month ago when I asked if "Red Riding Hood" was a roo because it all of the sudden got some serious combs and wattles going on?
You all looked at the tail feathers and said "yeah, it's a roo" and on Christmas day, he confirmed it?
He is Eric the Red...however, 2 others...Annie, and Goldie...are starting to appear very Roo-ish, too...
This is the only picture I have of their tail feathers right now...but they're starting to get bigger combs and wattles and maybe even some bumps in the spur area.
What do you think? I'll try to get better pictures tomorrow after I charge my camera batteries, because their combs and wattles are MUCH larger now.
Also...THEY are huge...Goldie's head comes up to my knee, and I'm 5'5"!!! I don't know if they're just going to be some seriously large hens, or if I have some more of Billy's "BUFF" babies. haha
***ETA: We *think* we might have heard a different crow the other morning, but when I go out early to catch the crower...they shut up...I guess it's performance anxiety...however, I will admit...Goldie this morning would "wind up" like a roo crowing...BUT, when she'd stick her neck out, her mouth would open like a crowing roo, but nothing would come out...weird!!!***
