Hoppy im glad you posted this, I was thinking of doing the same. you already know about this hoppy, but I just wanted to add that I got a news letter from Central Maine Bird Fanciers saying the swap meet would be on the 19th of April, now im not sure wich is wich, it might be a typo. My best guess is they may have changed it due to a couple of shows in new england on the same weekend.
The letter also stated regarding to the swap and sell, "There is no charge to participate, but donations are always greatfully accepted!" I think to blood test birds it's $10.00

There is also a Poultry Education Clinic
at the Waldoboro UM Extension Office Building on Manktown Road across from Medomak Valley High School on Saturday May 8th from 10:00am to 12:00PM fallowed by a bag lunch, for those interested in staying. It's free of charge for both children and adults space is limited so arive early.
There will be 4 sessions, including the fallowing:
Chicken Housekeeping: Presented by Fran Curtis Fran will focus on the practical needs for housing and equipment needed to keep poultry. Some cost-saving ideas will be shared.
Types of Chickens and How to Choose a Breed: Presented by Erik Nelsen This will be an introduction to the different breeds and varieties of chickens and how to choose the right breed for yourself. Some examples of the breeds will be on display.
Poultry Showing and Showmanship: Presented by Allison Flagg (me) Allison will share some things you might like to know about showing successfully at poultry shows and fairs. She will also share some tips for Juniors on how to prepare for showmanship competitions.
Chicken Health and First Aid Kits: Presented by Linda Blackman the focus will be on raising healthy chickens and prevention of problems. A general first aid kit of items handy to keep on hand will be shared.
If time allows, a question and answer period will fallow the presentations.
