Good morning all, I was checking out my local freecycle & someone was offering baby chickens. Come to find out they were found in a field by this lady & she can't keep them. More than likely Easter leftovers

The weather here has been cool & got down in the 40's last night... they wouldn't have made it very long out on their own.

Anyways, I'm going to pick them up later this morning

I don't know how many or what they are.
It's so cool cause I've been desperately wanting some babies anyway after all of the cute baby pics I've been seeing here.

Hey yall, I'm sooo ticked off :mad:
Come to find out his lady I got them from works for a hotel she's the asst. manager. Well someone had gotten married & this poor babies were the prank. Some stupid guys put the chics in their motel room & then the stupid married couple just left them in their room... grrr... Then the manager just put these sweet babies out in a field next to the hotel :thun
When the asst. manager got off of work those babies where huddled together & she took them home.
Now they're in safe place, stupid people...... I'm worried about one of them it's blocked up really bad & not eating but drinking a little. I gave it a few drops of minerial oil & they have Avia Charge in their water... Plus I've lubed the babies vent to try to help it out.
If yall can think of anything esle let me know..
here's a pic, I think they're Bantys.. if yall know the breed let me know.

So glad you heard about them and brought them home. Just love to hear stories like this, and especially since you'd been wanting to get some chicks anyway!
How stupid are some people to leave chicks in a room as if they were part of the furniture?! I'm guessing the hotel mgr was just clueless and couldn't have cared less what happened to them in a field!! :eek:

JEESH!!!! I cant believe SOME peoples children!! UGH! Just to throw them in a field like that...how cold can a person be!??? I am so glad they found you..and a great home. Congrats! These will be special babies for sure!

Hope they do well and that the stopped-up one gets better.

I can't imagine raising kids that don't know any better than to leave a living infant to fend for itself!!!! Unbelievable!!!!
 
Well these poor babies have had a tough start.They are so quite & they eat & sleep alot.. The chic that was blocked up is still hanging in there.Awhile ago the chic passed a hard chunk of something??? But is still not eating,after dark I'm gonna wet some food & try to get it to eat. The other two are gonna be fine I think. I was hoping to slip them under my broody Turken,but maybe not. They look about a week old or so.
Some people...ugh... just leave those babies out on a cold day in a field right next to door to the hotel.. :thun
