Shipping Details:
These will be mailed Tuesday, February8, 2011 if payment is received by 12 noon EST Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2011, unless there is any change in the pattern of laying eggs, which is not expected.

The shipping shown above is computed on average based priority mail, confirmation delivery, packing materials, etc. if you want xpress or insurance, it will be more. If your shipping is actually higher, we'll take the loss in order to get these eggs to you promptly. We are very care about selecting, carefully packing, packing materials, priority shipping and confirmation delivery. Usually I compute the shipping based on your zip code but in order to get this package moving at the close of this sale, we are giving a FLAT rate on our shipping. We only ship within the continental US (48 states). This rate reflects priority mail and confirmation delivery. If you want insurance, it will be $2 more.

If you are the successful winner of this auction, please paypal funds to us right after your winning the auction, so we can mail these eggs right away! (our PO ships in the afternoon) at [email protected] Pm us with any special mailing instructions, if you want to pick up at post office, (then we'll need a phone number), etc.

We ship eggs the same way we would like to receive them. We bubble wrap each egg separately, putting in a regular box (not an egg carton) which is then cushioned and set in a larger box. These are not the prepaid priority boxes but we use the large boxes that can be ordered through USPS as the standard mailing box. In order to minimize the time that our eggs are on the country roads where we live, we take our eggs shipments to the post office where they know to set ours by themselves and stack on the top of all the boxes when it's time to ship! It's worth the gasoline, wear and tear on the car and our time to give your eggs the best possible chance of travel. Our mailing costs can often be higher than the prepaid boxes but we find that they arrive in better shape, so it's well worth the extra time, packing materials and shipping costs. Occasionally with a large order, we will use an even larger outside box. Even as carefully as we ship, we cannot guarantee that there will be no breakage in transit. We do not guarantee the percentage of your hatch as the incubators temperature and humidity are very variable. We will provide assistance to you during the hatch and help in every way possible to have the best hatch possible.

We are a chemical free farm and farm full-time. We feed our animals with the best feed, sprouted grains, fresh grasses, treats from the garden and loving care. For more information about our farm, please visit our website http://www.freewebs.com/thegarryfarm/

I just received my eggs on 2/2/11 that I won from Nancy. I had to add that her packing is superb, eggs arrived in excellent shape and I received 3 extra! Thank you very much and I am looking forward to the hatch and possibly more eggs!

My original starter Project Lavendar flock was born early in mid 2009. The picture of some of the group shown was made before they started laying - about 3 months before then. They are much larger...I need to post newer pictures and will try to do so when our drizzle lifts.

Christmas time 2009 I purchased a batch of Hinkjc's split black/lavendar orpington eggs and I received a second batch in January 2010..These are separately kept and are part of our farms effort to continually work on the body types of the LPO. This grouping is NOT part of the listing for this auction.

I hope that I've answered your question. If not, please do pm me! Thanks for your interest and have a blessed day. Nancy

Many of you have asked detailed questions about how we ship eggs, so I've developed a more detailed narrative on this process....

Please go here for more information on The Garry Farm's (bargain) method - it's my BYC Page! And please don't copy parts of the narrative without giving credit to the farm. We've working on this technique for quite some time! We do welcome you to try it!

Have a blessed day and Happy Bidding. Nancy

Bargain, when you speak of better body type, could you clarify that a little for me? I have seen this mentioned in another breeder/seller's comments and I was wondering what it is that needs bettering? Thanks!

Sea Breeze first, there's nothing "wrong" with these they are beautiful! But the word Project means that those of us who are working with these lovely birds, in my case off the ones that Hinkjc started, are all working on this as a project. For me this means several pens of them at different stages, selecting the typier, more "orpingontonish"bodies for the breeding pen etc. etc. I won't go into all the details here because it's milking time at the farm! Overlaying with what the "ideal" black orpington periodically...etc. . I see the wider body carriage and orpingontishes changes I want already.. I plan to post some photos today after church, hope I can get them made and loaded before the auction closes. I'm not the best with words but I hope that this gets the concept through to you as to what project means. It's exciting and I'm glad to have these groupings on the farm and will continue as long as my hubby is benevelant to give me more space! There are several dialogues related to Lavendar Orpingtons on BYC and their evolution. I think you might find them interesting to read! Again, credit for ours goes to Hinkjc...I'm so grateful and blessed that eggs were shared so babies could be born and the project worked on throughout the US!

Have a blessed day! Nancy

Thanks Nancy!

I wasn't implying anything less than quality being a newcomer to breeding chickens so I wanted to *tap in* to your experience and learn! I find them absolutely beautiful.

As a long time dog breeder, oftentimes what I consider pet or companion quality (i.e., not to make it into the gene pool/reproduce), other breeders think I'm crazy because my criteria is very high. So I asked about your birds based upon a statement you made. I understand what a *project* is, ongoing improvements within a breed per a standard (or developing a standard along the way based upon the ideal traits becoming apparent in each generation).

thank you so much for taking the time to share with me, provide me with an education!

Blessed be,
Kristi

Oh Kristi, no offense taken at all.
