I have a lovely mixed flock of Heritage Orpingtons and Hatchery birds (Delaware, Cochin, Barred Rock, EEs, BO) who produce adorable FLUFFY egg layers and yummy eating cockerels.

Chicks are plump babies who grow up to be friendly chickens; even the cockerels have been gentle.

A high majority of my mixed chicks are blue or splash – due to my Roo Versace (G. Marlett bird) and his son Adam – both Splash Orpingtons. My heritage Orp hens are from Gumpgirls stock – two splashes and a blue, plus Adam’s sister Eve (Versace x gumpsgirls hen).

The gamble – in my main flock is also a bantam RIR rooster – Woodstock. It is not often that I hatch an egg fertilized by him, but it does happen – I only have one of his LF cross daughters in my flock. (his main loves are a red bantam Cochin and a Rosecomb/RIR bantam girly)

Eggs will be gathered Saturday and Sunday for shipment Monday. Eggs will be dated, bubble wrapped and then double boxed for shipping.

Fertility has been great but I cannot guarantee hatch rate due to postal handling, as is typical with shipped eggs.

Update: As of Saturday night, there are 12 eggs for this sale And Sunday's have not been counted yet

These eggs were collected Feb. 7th – they are not included in this auction as they are already sold – but they give you an idea of what comes out of this coop and you will be getting.

I have 6 of HorsefeathersNV hens - they are gorgeous! I always get lots of complements from people. They give me 3-6 very large eggs per day. Very healthy with big fluffy bottoms!

Here's five of them before they started laying.

Beautiful! Wish I could get some, but I'm afraid of them having to be shipped halfway across the continent in the cold =/ They really are gorgeous birds!
