I am new to own chickens. I have ALWAYS wanted them, since I was a little girl. My daughter and I have enjoyed them over the last week. I got 5 two week old chicks at the local feed store. Made their temp. home in a 40 gallon rubber waterer. At three weeks they already are ready to get out! I love owning chickens! My husband and I just build a beautiful coop yesterday out of a playhouse that the prior owners of the house had. My daughter gets the upper part as her fort and the bottom is the coop. I will post pictures. I am very proud of it! I have read the Living With Chickens by Jay Rossier from front to back! Great book by the way! Made creating my coop very easy and help me avoid potential problems! Very excited to be, as my very narrow minded friends says, one of those Chicken Ladies!
