I missed the grill out at Red Roof Hens last year, but I heard that everyone had a great time meeting each other, sharing good food and of course, talking all about chickens. I am certainly attending this year and am happy to participate in this fun event. After touring the farm at Red Roof Hens and enjoying the grill-out, everyone is invited to Lonesome Pine Farm for desserts, refreshments and a "fertile hatching eggs" hunt. Just like the wonderful Easter Egg hunts we enjoyed as children...only these eggs are for incubating instead of eating! And you will be able to see the parent flocks the hatching eggs are from!! Some of the breeds I have include Orpingtons, LF Cochins, LF Light Brahmas, Lavender Orpington Project, Serama, Columbian Rock Bantams, Coronation Sussex, Barred Plymouth Rock and White Rocks. Red Roof Hens will also be donating hatching eggs, so there will be a large variety. To make it even more fun, there will be the "golden eggs". Find them and win a gift! Looking for a beautiful Coronation Sussex rooster? We will be drawing a name out of a box for anyone interested in him, so if you are....bring a large box or cage in case you win!!

Please come join us for some good food, great conversations and fun times!

My family and I would love to come! It would be myself, possibly my husband, my 14 year old, 6 year old, and 2 year old sons. I don't know if I will be able to participate in the egg hunt ( I will have to talk to the girls about that) although if they will kick me out some eggs I would love to! I can bring more than one covered dish. I would like to bring squash casserole, broccoli casserole, a Texas sheet cake, and whatever else I can whip up!

Do we need to label our hatching eggs or is it a surprise? Is it 1 dozen per participant (like if my children wanted to participate in the egg hunt also with me)?

We would love to come! Sounds exciting!

YYYYYYYYYYYYEEEEEAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!! Cant wait!!! Hopefully I wont have food poisoning this year and can make it, I hated missing it last year!

Shannon, Can you edit the title and put Georgia in it somewhere??? You might get more hits off of it then.
