Wow, that was so much fun!

Thursday: I got in really late because of a 5 hour delay at the Albuquerque airport. B'duh... Luckily, my short story occupied most of my time and Touhou walkthrough videos took up the remainder of my time! I got to Oakland just fine, though. Met my aunt and went back to her apartment, where we slept.

Friday: My aunt had some vital business meeting that took up 1/2 of the day, so I just watched some anime and wrote. Then, when she got back, my aunt and I went walking around Oakland and visited this really nice, albeit rocky, man made beach where we had a picnic! Oh, and there was this really crazy duck that would dive under the water for at least 10 minutes at a time! We called him 'Ninja Duck'. And then we just sat and watched the waves! By then, it was getting really late so we went to JoAnn's really quick for some materials to make cosplay props. And we worked on our cosplays until the wee hours of the morning. (I was Yukari Yakumo from Touhou, and my aunt was Chihiro from Spirited Away.)

Saturday: It was so awesome! My aunt and I went to Wonder*Con (I hate hoop-skirts now...) So, as soon as I get in, guess who I see? A Ran cosplayer! She was really nice~ Oh, so we walked around the con, and there were so many people! And so much merchandise! We'll get to the merch later. Anyway, we must have gotten stopped by at least 20 people wanting to either take a picture of me or my aunt. Oh, I saw a Yotsuba cosplayer and got my picture with her! And there was a Team Rocket Grunt that I talked to. So, we got into the con and met some of my aunt's friends, one of which was dressed as Asuka from Evangelion. Then we walked around for a little bit and saw a TON of booths! There was a Capcom booth, where we stopped to see footage of Marvel vs. Capcom 3 (It's got Tron Bonne, Zero, and Deadpool~). And then we bought SO MUCH merchandise! There were figures, OSTs, CDs, plushies, hats... Wow. If you ever wanted a giant Reshiram plush or a huge Mikuru Asahina plush, you could buy them! And the figures were much cheaper than I thought they were. They had really nice figures of Maid!Mio from K-ON for 25 dollars! I managed to get 3 figures~ Oh, and I bought a Team Rocket shirt at the shirt booth! They had so many shirts there! Oh, and the hats! The hats were amazing!! My aunt got two hats. And oh my Mew, the figurine booth! They had the most AMAZING Megaman X figure there! Unfortunately, it was only for display. But they also had a lot of robot figures there, which looked really cool. This is what the X figure looked like.

For loot, here's what I got: 2 CDs, one of which is a Yuki Nagato character song CD and the other is a CD of covers done by Miku Hatsune; 3 figures, consisting of a Roll Casket from Megaman, a Yui from K-ON, and the cutest little chibi Miku Hatsune figure; A T-shirt of the Team Rocket logo; A pair of clip on cat ears; and a Kirby plush for my brother.

After the con, we went to Japantown, where we saw a charity hula dance for Japan. They were really good! And then we went into the mall to look at stuff. They have an ENTIRE store devoted to Hello Kitty! It was amazing! And then we looked at a few import stores, which were packed to the gills with merch. Then, we went to the manga store, where they had this really cool art book! I wanted it, but there was no price tag.

Oh, and they actually had official Touhou manga there! I never expected to see that! However, they were not translated, which is a huge bummer. My aunt bought two cool books on unique food presentation. After the manga store, we went to this really cool store for everyday stuff called Ichiban Kan . They had snack food, bowls, food, and just random stuff you could use around the house! I got a 'Dip your own Pocky' snack with Nutella. It was amazing~ Then my aunt and I went back home and ordered Chinese and watched Spirited Away.

Sunday: We went to see the Redwoods, and THEY ARE BIG. Even the little plants on the floor were huge! And there was a really pretty stream in the Redwood park. Oh, and the drive up to go see them was filled with hairpin turns and amazing scenic views! We walked around the Redwoods for a while and then we went to the Exploratorium. It's a hands-on science museum, and it was really fun! I loved the sound exhibit. After the Exploratorium, I had to go back home. This time, there were no delays with the plane, which is good!
