Hi,
I'm not sure if anyone would be interested but I thought I would try posting this anyway.
Last year I hatched a batch of Blue Wheaton Ameraucanas, and one of them hatched with a badly deformed leg. I just couldn't put down the chick since it looked so sad. But it grew just fine, and turned out to be a girl----although it doesn't seem to lay any eggs lol. It definitely is a hen though. She's supposed to be a standard but is on the smaller side. I have raised her indoors in a cage with a silkie hen for a buddy. If anyone would be interested in her for FREE please let me know. I might even include her silkie hen buddy too. I just don't have the heart to have her put to sleep for her handicapp.
I was just hoping maybe there was a specialist out there who has experienced with handicapped chickens, or maybe even a vet willing to adopt her and possibly even help her with her leg?
I will try to get some pics of her this weekend to post. But please keep her adoption in mind.
Thanks for looking & Take Care,
Bill.
