We have a silkie that's been on its own for a week. It seems to be bonding with this stuffed bear.

Last night I put the bear in the tank and this morning when I came down it was resting its head against it.

Anyone else had luck with this?

Stuffed animals are good, but what I have found even better is a feather duster. I hang mine near the heat source and the chicks (singles and whole clutch hatches) love to snuggle under it and next to it.

Our single chick - now 5 weeks old - loves sleeping in my husband's old house slipper.

I have had success with a super fuzzy sock (rolled into itself to make a sort of cave) seems to keep a lonely chick happy ... But i will be sure to buy a feather duster for the future

All great ideas -- I think we have a kids' houseslipper around that I could try.

Update: we tried the houseslipper for a few days, but he didn't really seem interested. Now we're trying a homemade feather duster -- he has gone in it so maybe he likes it...
