My duck, Peeps, apparently really wants to protect those eggs from the predator (me) that takes them from her everyday. She has a big nest of straw in one corner of the duck house. She covered the eggs with the container I put their oyster shell in (after she moved it 4 feet from across the duck house) then covered that with about 2 inches of straw. I found them anyway....sorry, Peeps!

I am feeling guilty for taking them from her! Particularly this morning.

That is a smart duck. Do your campbells ever go broody and sit on the eggs or only the swedes? I have campbells and am wondering if they will go broody this spring.

Thats pretty sharp duck !

First time I saw a nest covered by a swirl layer I would have never believed that a duck did that...eggs so well covered they were not visable.
