has anyone ever tried to hatch their eggs in egg cartons? if so what method did you use for this?? thanks angie

I have hatched eggs in cartons and I like the "no mess" of it.
How do you do it. with the big end up ?
That's the only way I do it anymore. Just put them in big end up. Cuts down on the clean-up and the first to hatch don't bowl the remaining eggs around.
WHAT about the HEAT that is required for hatching ?
I'm interested in learning how to do it too.

No, I cut the lid off the carton and just set them in it. I use the pulp cartons. I know some people cut a hole in the bottom, but I've had good hatch rates without doing anything to it other than removing the lid. My hatch rates have improved a lot since I started doing it this way last winter.
