TWO DAYS in a row now!!! Potpie has caught a mouse and I have to chase her fat little body all over the yard. When I finally catch her, she drops the mouse, but I have to throw the mouse away while I'm holding her, otherwise she picks it back up and runs off again!

Totally disgusting. And here she thinks she has the world's greatest treasure.

DH was wondering what the heck was going on... me yelling, "POTPIE! POTPIE! Get over here! POTPIE!!!" and running after her. Then I'm out there with her in one arm, a shovel in the other... he finally walks out because the curiousity is killing him.
She was so proud of herself, too!

Mine had a tug of war with a mouse once. I had to take it away from them, because about 8 were fighting for it. Needless to say, the poor mouse was nearly unrecognizable by the time I got it away from them. I've also had them eat frogs.
 
If the mouse can't set a good example for its mousy friends, then let it serve as a horrible warning!

I say if it's well fed and non-poisoned, let her play with it for a while. Free protein. I buy crickets for my peeps. Cats keep the mice away. But I've watched my girls eyeballing the squirrel that steals their food and I KNOW they would love to get at him!
 
Brenda sue is so proud of the EE's they have caught and eaten 4 little snakes in the past two weeks! She hates snakes! I will probably be getting more chickens due to that alone.
